Ira Lexus of Danvers Strike Out Hunger Program

Ira Lexus of Danvers Supporting the Lexus Strike Out Hunger Program

The New England Sports Network and Lexus have teamed up with the Boston Red Sox to help scale the Strike Out Hunger Initiative which donates to the Greater Boston Food Bank.

In a fight to end hunger in its community, the Greater Boston Food Bank works endlessly to provide healthy food to those in need in Eastern Massachusetts. This marks the five-year anniversary of the initiative, and the Lexus and Boston Red Sox Partnership.

Lexus has committed to donating $100 to the food bank every time the Boston Red Sox’s pitcher strikes out a hitter on the opposing team – this is double the usual donation of $50 each strike due to the shortened MLB season.

Ira Lexus of Danvers has participated in the program since its inception in 2016, by collecting non-perishables and supporting awareness. Donations began in July and continue throughout the 2020 Major League Baseball season.

“The Strike Out Hunger program is an extremely important contribution to the Massachusetts community,” Said, General manager of Ira Lexus of Danvers. “All of the local Boston dealers really believe in giving back to the community. We love the program and believe that no one should go hungry.”

Since the first season, Lexus has donated over $308,000, which provided more than 926,000 healthy meals to individuals in need throughout eastern Massachusetts.

Ira Lexus of Danvers is currently collecting non-perishable items through the end of this month to fight hunger in its community.
