Sonya Simmons, Executive Assistant to Earl Hesterberg and Daryl Kenningham, was recently recognized by Harmony House as their “Compassion in Our Community Award Recipient”. Harmony House’s mission is to provide quality permanent and transition housing and primary health care to homeless persons through a supportive, drug and alcohol-free community.
“I was connected with Harmony House a few years ago when I was unable to get meaningful help for a homeless friend. Meg, Preston, and their amazing team stepped up to do what seemed impossible and I have been devoted to Harmony House ever since,” said Sonya.
A number of employees also assist Harmony House by collecting and giving care packages at Christmas time each year. Additionally, Jason Babbitt, Christine Scott, and Olivia Reed serve on the board of directors for Harmony House.
CEO Earl Hesterberg spoke during the presentation, explaining Group 1 Automotive’s support for employees to volunteer in their communities, and the important role that Harmony House plays in Houston, TX.
