In July 2018, Gene Messer Chevrolet of Lubbock said goodbye to late technician and dear member of the Gene Messer family, Edwin Kyle. To commemorate Edwin’s passion for his craft and pay it forward to future automotive technicians, Gene Messer proudly acquired his pristine tool set valued at $38,000 and donated it to the South Plains College during a ceremony on November 27 with faculty and students.
Gene Messer is committed to supporting education and career opportunities in the automotive field and is proud that students following in Edwin’s career path will have a new set of tools to use in class.
