OVER AND ABOVE…. We were on our way from Florida to Denver when we had what we thought was a transmission issue. After calling several GMC dealers (service depts) in OK City and being told it would be 1+ weeks to get an appointment, the Service Advisor, Mark Emerson, at Bob Howard Buick/GMC, gave us hope by saying if we could get there by 530p they would take a look at our 2021Sierra 1500. We knew and told Mark that it would be “tight” getting there in time, as we were still in Arkansas; but Mark just said call when we were close. At 530pm we made that call and said we were still about 30 min out….no problem, Mark said they would wait for us. We finally arrived around 620p and Mark took us to Bo Miller, a service technician that waited for us to arrive. Since we were towing a travel trailer I was despairing about having to unhook the truck, but Bo brought his computer out into the lot and hooked it up. After a short time, he was able to tell us the transmission was just fine and talked through the possibilities and symptoms. After spending what seemed like an hour w us he concluded that it was a setting issue with the 4-wheel drive and easily addressed. We had heard of several other possibilities that made us nervous it was something major but Bo talked through those w us to ensure us such were unlikely. Hallelujah….we were back on the road that evening and on our way to Alaska (via Denver). Now on our way home from an incredible trip of 10k plus miles, I am happy to say that the transmission was never an issue from that point on. Thank you Bo and Mark for waiting for us and providing service above and beyond. If I lived in OK, instead of Florida, I would definitely buy a truck or car from Bob Howard GMC….who knows, maybe I’ll drive up from FL to buy one. Needless to say it’s people like Bo and Mark that set dealers like Bob Howard in a class above all the rest.
